Have you ever been through a breakup or lost a close friend and felt completely alone, hopeless, and sad because of it? Going through those experiences is hard and may even develop into depression. However, it gets better, and seeking therapy or researching coping mechanisms can be beneficial.
Have you ever been scared to go somewhere because of a fear of people, such as when you start new classes and are afraid to walk into class, or when you go to a restaurant and worry that you might see a classmate? Does your heart beat fast, and your mind feel out of control in these situations? That might be a sign of social anxiety. However, don’t worry - there are ways to manage symptoms.
Every time you look in the mirror, what do you notice? Do you see every single imperfection about yourself, or do you see yourself as overall pretty? If you see all your imperfections and hate looking in the mirror, thinking you're so ugly, fat, disgusting, etc., you may have body dysmorphia disorder. However, what you see is not always accurate, and there are ways to alter your self-perception.
Those aren't the only concerning situations; many things can cause mental health to worsen, even small things.
